Everton hero hails Grealish: He loves being the star

Jack Grealish moved to Everton on a loan deal in the summer, and we talked to former Everton star Anders Limpar, who shared his thoughts on the winger.

Jack Grealish has been one of the most dominant wingers in the Premier League for more than a decade, first making himself a name at Aston Villa before playing an important role at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola. Now, the English star has moved to Everton, where he has started off very well with four assists in six Premier League matches.

The former Sweden international is excited to have the winger at his former club and calls him an unbelievable player, who thrives with being the star on a team, which he has the opportunity to be at Everton.

Grealish is top five in the Premier League

The Swede says that he still considers Grealish to be a top-five player in the Premier League, but notices that he was just a part of the group at Manchester City.

“I always liked Jack Grealish. When City were at their best Jack Grealish was on the left and they were peaking. I don’t know what it’s like to have a manager like Pep Guardiola but when you’re at City you have so many options. He just became one in the group but even if you’re not playing often for City you’re still one hell of a player.”

“I was happy he joined Everton because he is possibly in the top five when it comes to players in the Premier League. Just because he was on the bench for City it doesn’t mean he’s a bad player. He’s an unbelievable player. It’s the same with Eze. Everton isn’t City.”

He loves being the star

“He’ll be the star again and the team will be looking for him to help them and I think he loves that. To be in the centre, the star. It suits him. He’ll get better with that pressure.
