Former Everton star shares his thoughts on the Toffees

After fighting against relegation the last few years, Everton finished 13th in the Premier League last season. Ahead of the new campaign, we caught up with Anders Limpar, who shared his thoughts and expectations for the club in the months ahead.

Like every other club during the transfer window, Everton are also looking to make big moves, and Anders Limpar gave his opinion on some of the rumours that are currently flying around.

Furthermore, he gave a bold prediction ahead of the next season, which might come as a positive surprise for the Everton fans who have been suffering for a long time.

Keep Beto - Snub Bakayoko

Two of the strongest rumours surrounding Everton are how the club is considering letting go of Beto and bringing in Johan Bakayoko.

Limpar isn’t a fan of those ideas, as he urges the club to keep Beto and snub Bakayoko.

“It would be a mistake to let go of Beto. You need two or three big strikers. Imagine if Barry gets injured for example. You need two or three good strikers as it’s a long season. I think they’ll also sign another good striker.”

“Bakayoko’s been on loan four times which is a bit concerning. How does that happen if you’re a good player? That’s a red flag for me. You shouldn’t be on loan four times. I’m not sure about him.”

Branthwaite could play for any team

Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite recently signed a new five year deal and Limpar believes he could have chosen to play for any team. Alas, he pointed to the fact that Moyes has done wonders at Everton, which made him come up with a bold prediction.

“Jarrad Branthwaite could play for any team in the Premier League, Serie A or La Liga.”

“Moyes has done wonders for Everton and I’m sure he’s told him to sign the new contract and with the new owners the club will bring in new players. It’s great for the team to see him signing. It’s a mega boost and I think Everton can finish in the top half this summer. Everton fans believe again.”

Barry is a good signing for Everton

One of the players that can help the club finish in the top half of the table is the newly bought star Thierno Barry, who recently arrived from Villarreal, and Limpar is very positive when it comes to the new striker.

“Everton have recently struggled in the number nine area. Dominic didn’t get the service he needed at Everton so he had to go.”

“But Barry is very tall and it’s good to have him for set pieces and he’s a goal scorer which makes him a good signing.”

Everton kick off their season away at Elland Road against Leeds United on August 18th.
