Tore Andre Flo shares shocking story about how his car got vandalised by Celtic fans

Former Rangers player Tore Andre Flo often looks back at his time at Rangers with joy - however, he shared one story with us about what could happen if you are on the wrong side of Glasgow as a Rangers player.

The Norwegian former centre forward Tore Andre Flo played 50 matches in the Scottish Premiership with 29 goals for Rangers, with his contributions making him a big star among the Rangers faithful.

But just as much love as he received from the Rangers fans, he also experienced the rivalry both on and off the court, and he shares one of the stories in this interview with AceOdds.

He also elaborated on how much he enjoyed his time at Rangers and his expectations and hopes for the next season.

“The craziest atmosphere I've ever played in”

Ibrox is known as a legendary stadium, and one of the key reasons for that is the fans themselves who always put on a show. That’s especially true in Old Firm matches against Celtic, and Flo remembers it as the craziest atmosphere he ever played in.

“It is the craziest atmosphere I have ever played in. People seemed to be crazy about Rangers, and it was really with passion. So the buildup to Celtic against Rangers was huge. In the newspaper they wrote so much about the Old Firm.”

“I still see some of their games and I follow all their results. I still keep an eye on where they are.”

“I think the Scottish people are really cool and lively. But when it was close to those matches, you had to be a bit careful.”

“I went on the wrong side”

One of the stories that came to the mind of Flo is when he went on a shopping trip on the wrong side of the city and came back to a vandalised car.

“There were parts of the town where you had to be a bit careful if you were a Rangers player, but also the other way around of course.”

“I went on the wrong side, when I went to a shop to buy a pram, and when I came out my car was scratched and there was written Celtic all over the front.”

“It was a bit of a shock to me, and I think the newspaper wrote about it as well. It wasn't that scary, but that was what could happen if you parked the car on the wrong side.”

“Rangers need to strengthen their squad”

Rangers finished second in the league table behind Celtic, however, they did very well to reach the quarterfinals of the Europa League.

But Flo made it clear that it’s important Rangers will be able to keep their best players and even reinforce their squad.

“I hope Rangers can keep their best players and strengthen their squad instead of selling. A new manager will come in and I saw Steven Gerrard is in the picture, and I think every fan would love it if he came back.”

“I am sure he would want to keep their best players and strengthen pretty much every area of the pitch to catch up on Celtic. I think Rangers have a good first eleven, but I don´t think the squad as a whole is good or big enough.”

“When they get injuries, their level drops, but when they put their best eleven on and play Celtic, we have seen that they have done better in the Old Firm this season than Celtic, so they definitely have good players, but they need to strengthen their squad.”
