Tore Andre Flo: Chelsea Should Sign Marc Guehi

Chelsea legend, Tore Andre Flo shares his thoughts Liam Delap’s impending move and more

Chelsea is known for being extremely busy during the transfer window, both on transfers in and out. We talked to former Blue, Tore Andre Flo who talked about Chelsea’s interest in Liam Delap, the availability of a couple of wingers and a centre-back he feels the club should sign.

Flo urges Chelsea to stick with Jackson

Liam Delap is inching closer to a move to Chelsea with reports mentioning that the English striker has agreed personal terms with the club. His arrival would also result in uncertainty for Nicolas Jackson. Flo believes that Chelsea should stick with Nicolas Jackson and snub Delap as he thinks the Senegalese has it in him to lead the line for the Blues.

“I think Jackson is good enough. I like him at times, and at other times he frustrates me. That speed he has is special and he has improved in his movements, flaming gaps, he’s better on the ball.”

“He can be the main guy for Chelsea as he’s young and still learning. That speed and power means he can be the big thing for the club.”

“I would stick with Nicolas over signing Delap. I think Nico will get there at some point. With his age, added experience, I feel he will be the guy to stick with.”

If Cherki or Rodrygo arrive, it would be great

In other areas of the attacking positions, Rayan Cherki and Rodrygo have been linked with a move to London and the Chelsea legend would love to see both players at the club. That being said, he implies that they would need to get rid of some of their wingers to make space for them.

“With Rodrygo, I didn’t even know it was an option for him to come to Chelsea. He’s a brilliant player. So is Rayan Cherki. If they come, that's great. But Chelsea already have a lot of good wingers.”

“I really like Cherki. He’s a good player.”

“Rodrygo is a great player and if I was coach I would snap him. Chelsea have to think about their squad though. To bring players in you have to get rid of some players too.”

I coached Marc Guehi - Chelsea should sign him

Looking at the defensive area of the pitch, Flo urges Chelsea to sign Marc Guehi, who he actually coached when he played at Chelsea as an academy player.

“I know Marc because I coached him when he was younger. I worked for the academy for a few years. He’s a great boy and I would love for him to be at Chelsea.”

“He’s such a strong defender. He’s quick and he would fight for you and for the club. That would be a very good signing.”
