Historical Data

According to 20+ years worth of data, most of the winners were born in England (20 out of 22) with only Hamza Yassin being born in Sudan and Joe McFadden being born in Scotland breaking the trend.

The most common occupations of the Strictly Come Dancing winners are: an actor (9 out of 22 winners), a presenter / journalist (7 out of 22 winners), an athlete (4 out of 22 winners) or a musician (4 out of 22 winners).

Friday turned out to be the most common weekday of birth of the Strictly Come Dancing champions (5 out of 22 winners), followed by a tie between Saturday & Thursday (4 out of 22 winners).

Additionally, Pisces and Capricorn are the most common star signs of the past Strictly Come Dancing winners (4 winners each), followed by Virgo and Scorpio (3 winners each).

When looking at the typical age of the past winners, most of the champions were in their late 20s (6 out 22 winners) or late 30s (6 out of 22 winners) at the time of their win. Five champions won in their early 30s.

Lastly, “C” and “J” are the most common first name initials of the past champions - three Strictly Come Dancing champions had a name starting with “C” and three of them had a name starting with “J”.

2025 Contestants and their winning traits

After the supercomputer analyzed the typical traits of the past SCD winners, it assigned points to the 2025 celebrity contestants to see who has the most traits of a typical SCD winner.

Two contestants were found to have the most traits of a typical SCD winner, both getting 6 points from the AceOdds supercomputer: Love Island winner & actress Dani Dyer and Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope.

As mentioned, Dani Dyer is not only the winner of Love Island, but also an actress, appearing in multiple projects including a guest role on EastEnders. She was born in Newham, London, England and she was born on a Thursday, another common trait of a Strictly Come Dancing champion. Additionally, Dyer is currently in her late 20s, the typical age of a SCD winner.

Meanwhile, Lewis Cope is an actor most known for his role of Nicky on Emmerdale. He was born in Hartlepool, England, and his astrological sign is Pisces, which are three typical traits of SCD champions. Additionally, he is currently in his early 30s which is also a common characteristic of past SCD winners.

Both Dyer and Cope received the same amount of points from the supercomputer, however, since series 18, the show has steadily rotated male and female winners; series 18 was won by Bill Bailey, series 19 was won by Rose Ayling-Ellis, series 20 was won by Hamza Yassin, series 21 was won by Ellie Leach and series 22 was won by Chris McCausland.

For that reason, the AceOdds supercomputer has given Dani Dyer the edge and she is predicted to win the 23rd series of SCD.
