The summer transfer window has started and rumours are circulating around players and clubs. As always, almost every fan of football is interested in hearing about the hottest transfer rumours and Di Marzio gave us his insights on possible moves for Darwin Nunez, Thomas Partey and Bryan Mbeumo.
Napoli want Nunez
The media has already been writing about Napoli´s interest in Darwin Nunez, and Di Marzio confirms that Serie A champions want the Uruguayan striker, however it won´t be easy for them to make a deal with Liverpool.
"I don't know if Nunez will go but I know that Napoli wants him. It's not easy for Napoli to get a player like him - he's expensive and his salary is high. Liverpool's demands are high but Napoli are pushing for him."
"The deal is not easy but the player opened talks with Napoli. He spoke with Giovanni Manna, saying that yes, he wants to come. But now the situation is between the two clubs."
Di Marzio elaborates on the deal and says that Liverpool actually agreed a fee with Al-Nassr in January, which is why their asking price is quite high for Nunez.
"Liverpool is asking for a high price because in January they had a deal arranged with Al-Nassr for €70 million and it collapsed. They don't want less than €65-70 million while Napoli thinks that the value of this player is around €50-55 million. So it's not easy but Nunez is Napoli's target."
The Italian transfer expert continues by saying that another Saudi Arabian club - Al-Hilal - is interested in Nunez as well, but explains that the deal also depends on Victor Osimhen.
"He is also a target for Al-Hilal and Simone Inzaghi. If they don't get Osimhen, they'll try and get Darwin Nunez. So they are linked, Osimhen and Darwin Nunez, between Napoli, Liverpool and Al-Hilal."
Isak or Osimhen could be the replacement
Both Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen have proven their goalscoring ability for many seasons now, something that Nunez has struggled to do at Liverpool. Now, Liverpool could actually look at them to replace Nunez if he leaves the club.
"I think Liverpool want Isak and Osimhen too. For Isak it depends on Newcastle, because the player talked to the coach and the club at the end of the season because he would like to leave but Newcastle are not open to that, at the moment."
"So it depends on Newcastle and Isak's discussion, if the club will be open to having him on the market. Newcastle is a tough club and they want to keep their best players for next season, including Sandro Tonali."
"Isak would like to look at other options because at the end of this season, he had the promise from the club and the coach but Newcastle haven't acted seriously on that yet."
Partey will leave Arsenal but not for Napoli
Di Marzio confirms that Thomas Partey will leave Arsenal, however he explains that Napoli are out of the picture despite being linked to the African midfielder earlier this summer.
"I know that Thomas Partey is not renewing the contract and he will leave. I thought that Napoli wanted him because Giovanni Manna wanted him when he was at Juventus. But no, at this moment, he's not a target for Napoli."
Danish midfielder Christian Norgaard has been mentioned as a Partey replacement, but Brentford and Arsenal aren´t in advance talks at this moment in time according to Di Marzio.
"So he could be an option for other clubs but nothing advanced at the moment, even for Christian Norgaard to Arsenal."
Mbeumo will most likely sign for Man United
Bryan Mbeumo was one of Premier League's best players last season, and multiple top clubs are allegedly targeting the Frenchman.
Manchester United and Tottenham have been strongly linked to Mbeumo, but despite Thomas Frank moving from Brentford to Tottenham, Di Marzio expects Mbeumo to choose Manchester United.
"Mbeumo is more likely to end up at Man Utd despite his former coach now joining Tottenham. Man Utd will do all they can to get him and are preparing offers for him. I think they will, at the end, sign him."
If you believe Mbeumbo he could upset the odds and follow his former manager instead, it is well worth calculating the odds.
