The Beautiful Game = Football. Call It What It Is!

The world speaks. FIFA isn't listening.

In 164 countries across the globe, one term dominates. People search for it more. Players use it. Broadcasters call it that way.

The United States of America is one of the host nations of the 2026 World Cup. Fair enough. But that doesn't mean we should let "soccer" take over.

Here's the thing: when you measure search volume across every country with Google Keyword data, "football" wins in the vast majority of territories. The data is there for all to see. You can verify it in five minutes. FIFA can't argue with it.

Countries by "football" vs "soccer" search dominance

Note: The US and Canada are excluded from the country count due to high American football search volume contaminating the data; 164 of 192 countries search "football" more than "soccer" (85.4%).

We've built the case. Now we're asking FIFA to do what the evidence suggests: standardise on "football" as the sole official English-language term across all communications, branding, and tournament materials from 2027 onwards. No mention of soccer moving forward.

Sign the petition and tell FIFA what the world already knows.
