Spain vs France – Tuesday sees the first of two tournament semi-finals as Spain take on France and although the former left it late to get the better of hosts Germany, the latter left it even latter and needed further effort to dispose of Portugal and gain a modicum of revenge for their final defeat in 2016. That fateful night in Paris was four years after Spain’s last success at major international level and although the nation’s footballing ability has been stepped in tiki-taka talk for the past decade or so, there is no doubt that Luis de la Fuente has finally ushered in a new era under his watchful eye as manager. A new era that although has experience with the likes of Rodri and Dani Carvajal also has the fearlessness that comes with youth and with the likes of Yamine Lamal and Nico Williams prepared to tirelessly run at opposition defences, the attacking pair will soon look to tire out their French counterparts.
As for France themselves, there is no doubt that they have toiled to this stage of the tournament. However, tournament football is a far different beast from the club game and although many would expect Les Blues to turn it on for those in attendance and watching at home, there has been a sense of turning it off in terms of style. Then again, manager Didier Deschamps has recently said that he is not worrying about the entertainment of others, just the continual progress of this France side and with him looking to complete the ‘double-double’ in terms of winning the World Cup and its European cousin as both a player and manager, he will be prepared to play however is necessary in order to first get past Spain and then win their third overall title in this competition. If they are to dial down the attacking prowess, then once again it will be the defence that has to step up to the plate and with no goal being scored from open play, the last thing they can afford is to afford the first in a few hours. Unfortunately, that is what we see panning out and we also see it being the only goal of the game, as Spain edge this by a goal to nil.
Netherlands vs England – There is no doubt that the Netherlands have created chance after chance in their run to the tournament semi-finals, but there is also no doubt that they have wasted plenty of them during the same path. A point that suggests that they not struggling when it comes to being creative, but they are struggling when it comes to being critical. Then again, manager Ronald Koeman can point to his critics and say because his players are creating so many chances, they can also afford to be wasteful. A point and counterpoint that seem fair within the argument, but there is always a nagging sense that wastefulness will catch you out in the end and the time for such a thing to catch you out is certainly not at a major tournament semi-final. A position that it looked like the Netherlands would not even be at come half time of their last eight clash with Turkey. A goal down at the break was eventually turned into a goal ahead before the final whistle and with England doing their bit just a couple of hours before, the Dutch win completed the lineup for the final four in Germany.
A final four that includes the Three Lions of England and although they once again toiled against the Swiss on Saturday, there was a sense of feelgood factor after a flawless round of penalty kicks. Five efforts from 12 yards, five efforts that saw those involved not even breaking sweat – in the case of Ivan Toney he did not even break his focus that was not placed on the ball and with the takers doing their bit, Jordan Pickford also did his after saving Manuel Akanji’s effort from the same distance. England winning 5-3 in the shootout after a 1-1 draw at the end of 120 minutes. Gareth Southgate lapping up the applause and playing to the crowd come the final whistle and although the former Middlesbrough manager has certainly had his detractors over the past few weeks, there can be no doubting his ability to lead England to the business end of major tournaments. That is now three out of the last four, where Southgate has led his charges to the final four and now the task is to emulate the efforts of three years ago, but eventually go one better. However, it may need more in the way of blood, sweat and tears against the Dutch and therefore, we are backing a 1-1 draw and letting penalties decide who moves on to the final.
Argentina vs Canada – If you were to pick the best team in this summer’s Copa America so far, Argentina may be part of the conversation but they may not be the loudest voice within it. The defending champions of both this competition and the World Cup made heavy going of their win over Ecuador in the last eight and although it looked like they were going to grind out a 1-0 win in normal time, their opponents had other ideas with a 91st minute equaliser. An equaliser that led to 30 additional minutes but no additional goals to go with it and with penalties being required as the tiebreaker, it was Lionel Scaloni’s men who would eventually go on to break Ecuadorian hearts. Hearts broken but at the cost of nerves being shred, the only positive that Argentinian supporters can take from that tense quarter-final clash, is that it may offer a wakeup call to the likes of Lionel Messi and Lautaro Martinez.
While there may be a sense of deja vu when Argentina go up against their final four opponents at the Copa America. The opponents they will soon face are Canada, the reason for familiar feelings is because they have already faced each other in the United States. A 2-0 win for the holders to get this summer’s competition underway but not being heavily bruised in that encounter has only served to put Canada in good stead for what has then followed. Second in Group A, Jesse Marsch’s men were then rewarded with a last eight meeting with Venezuela – a meeting that not many people expected them to win. However, the Copa America is always good for throwing the form guide out of the window and with the Canadians holding their own nerve from 12 yards, it is they who advance and earn a rematch with Argentina in the process. However, that deja vu feeling may be even more prominent come the end of 90 minutes, as we are backing another 2-0 loss for this Canadian outfit.
Colombia vs Uruguay – The semi-final that is undoubtedly one for the purists. In one corner you have a Colombia side that has not lost any of its last 27 international matches. In the opposite corner, you have a Uruguay side that is overseen by the managerial legend of Marcelo Bielsa. The Colombians have steamrollered over everyone that has dared stand in their way at this summer’s Copa American and their resounding victory over Panama in the last eight was the perfect display of what they have been about these past few weeks. Now though, they may have to be perfect against a Uruguay side that is not in the mood for giving much away themselves.
With Brazil out of the tournament, Uruguay will feel that they have a genuine chance of reaching the final and what better subplot is there than Marcelo Bielsa leading his new charges into battle against his own nation and one he was manager of between 1998 and 2004. A period that only saw him deliver Olympic gold but nothing in the way of major international glory and after failing to land Copa America success during his time as Chile, the former Leeds manager will now hope it is third time lucky in terms of trying to conquer South America. It was a pragmatic approach that was required to get the better of Brazil – especially after having to play all of extra time with a man less and with the game ending in a 0-0 draw, we think the same caginess will be required against Colombia. Therefore, we are backing a goalless stalemate before the decider takes place from 12 yards.

Also, be sure to check for any critical player injuries. Like with Fantasy Football, you don’t want to put all your hopes on a team winning only to find their best player is out injured.

Before the latest 4 Scores Challenge gets underway, here are our key considerations:
It has been a case of the magnificent seven for Spain before their semi-final meeting with France. Their last seven international outings have all seen victories recorded by La Roja and when you also add that to March’s 3-3 draw with Brazil, the run is extended to eight unbeaten and just one defeat in their last 10. For a young side, there is no doubt that Luis de la Fuente’s starlets are now starting to come of age and considering Lamine Yamal turns 17 the day before the final, there would be no better birthday present than booking a place in it this evening.
As for opponents France, they have also undergone a rather impressive unbeaten run in terms of numbers but not necessarily in terms of performance. Didier Deschamps’ men are currently eight unbeaten but there is no doubt that they have toiled towards that number. Four wins and four draws (one of them eventually leading to a penalty shootout win over Portugal) has been the tale of the tape for Les Blues and even though they are lacking their usual swagger, they are not lacking when it comes to grinding out necessary results.
Argentina’s winning run was technically ended by Ecuador just a few days ago, and although the two South American teams played out a draw in their Copa America quarter-final meeting, the defending champions would eventually need penalties to move on to the final four. An outcome that means even though the winning streak has ended, the unbeaten one has not and with Lionel Scaloni’s men having won eight and won a penalty shootout in the other, it is quite an ominous run for Canada to go up against.
Then again, Canada can consider themselves as the surprise act of this summer’s Copa America and with them edging past Venezuela on penalties - a team that had won all three of its group stage matches, Jesse Marsch’s men will now look to march on to the final. While those with even short memories will remember that Argentina and Canada have already squared off in the tournament’s opening game and that time around it was a 2-0 win for the former.
Coming into their tournament semi-final with England, the Netherlands have won three out of their last five. The start of that period saw them earn victory over Poland in their opening group stage match and then it has been bookended by consecutive knockout wins over both Romania and Turkey. Add the middle section which saw a bore draw with France and defeat to Austria follow in successive competitive outings and it is fair to say that you cannot take this team too lightly, but at the same time they should not be feared either.
Which is precisely the point you could make about England right now. Gareth Southgate’s men are unbeaten in each of their last five outings and more importantly, have yet to taste defeat at the tournament. The football has been far from exciting but the path to the semi-finals certainly has. Extra-time required against Slovakia in the Round of 16, penalties required to get the better of Switzerland just a few days ago and what is the most interesting stat of all - the Three Lions have failed to score twice in a single game in Germany.
Marcelo Bielsa masterminded victory over Brazil at the weekend and with 10-men required to see out extra time before a penalty shootout, their success over the five-time World Cup winners means Uruguay are now in the semi-finals of the Copa America. They arrive in the tournament’s penultimate hurdle having gone unbeaten in each of their last six outings. Four wins, one draw and another stalemate that was eventually decided from 12 yards. That is the tale of the Uruguayan tape before they take on Colombia in the small hours of Thursday morning.
As for Colombia, their unbeaten run is looking even more ominous than it did before the Copa America got underway. Admittedly, they had the easiest of the four quarter-finals in terms of opponents but their demolition of Panama now means that Nestor Lorenzo’s men have not lost any of their 27 matches. Yes, you read that right, 27. Not only that, but they have won each of their last seven and have been near faultless during this summer’s quest to the best in South America and beyond.

Regarding how the Bet365 4 Scores challenge works, the premise sounds rather simple - predict the correct scores in six selected matches and walk away with £50,000 for your troubles. This one is easy to play but incredibly difficult to master.
To make mastering the game a little more difficult, there are no prizes for simply predicting the correct outcome. For example, if Germany plays Scotland and you predicted a 1-1 draw, that is the score required to tick off your first winner.
Should the two Group A rivals play out a 2-2 draw instead, you may have backed the correct outcome, but that is no good in this free football jackpot game.
This game is open to all Bet365 customers, and not only is it open to all, but it could not be any easier to play, although it is incredibly difficult to master. We all know our football, and backing a team to win, lose, or draw is not the most difficult wager to place.
However, things become much more difficult when you add the correct score. Even though mastering the game may prove difficult, it does nothing to reduce the fun that can be had.
Whether working alone or pooling your brain power with your friends, this football score predictions game is worth a look.
Another point to highlight is that this European Championship version of the 4 Scores game will be played each day of group stage action. This means that the jackpot prize is collectable once someone predicts all the correct results and can be won on multiple occasions.
This means there are plenty of opportunities to test your European Championship prediction acumen with Bet365 across the tournament and to win prizes straight from the off.
Yes, you can change your predictions after submitting and up to the start of the first of the six nominated fixtures. Once the first ball has been kicked from these six, the selections are locked in.
The correct scores are determined by the scores that are confirmed on all major results or classified services.
If a predicted match is postponed, the jackpot will not be available as you need four correct selections. Therefore, the top prize for that week would be £10,000 for three correct score predictions. This would return to the main prize the following week.
Bet365 also allows football fans to win bet credits every week via their goals giveaway. If you enter this page each day between Monday and Friday after 2 p.m., a fixture will be selected at random.
You will be awarded 50p in bet credits if that fixture finishes with four goals. If the fixture has five or more goals, you will be awarded £1 in bet credits. If you return each day between Monday and Friday, you will receive five random fixtures to play with on the weekend.
If all these five matches total 20 or more goals, you will be awarded an additional £5 in free bet credits. Therefore, the maximum prize is £10 in bet credits, and you can play this free game every week.
In addition, there is also the Free4All game that is in place before selected matches, and it is a game that is split into two halves. The first half is before the game begins, and you must decide the outcome of two questions.
