New data reveals the most and least loved Premier League stadiums, according to fans.

  • Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane generates 94% positive sentiment in reactions to news articles from fans
  • The City Ground (Nottingham Forest) and Villa Park (Aston Villa) generate the most negative sentiment with 25%
  • 45% of reactions to articles about Stamford Bridge are supportive
  • 1 in 3 reactions to articles about Old Trafford are negative or laughter

Here at AceOdds, we have calculated fan sentiment to articles published on social media in the past year, looking at reactions to these articles and breaking them down into either supportive, negative or laughter (commonly used by fans to mock something online). They have looked at these reactions and can now reveal Premier League stadiums that fans would miss the most if they were to be replaced.

Sheffield United fans have not had much to cheer on the pitch in 2023/24, but their fans can claim to have the most-loved stadium in all of the Premier League, according to new stats.

Online sentiment towards articles about Bramall Lane generated an overwhelming amount of positivity - 94% in total - which puts the stadium just ahead of Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium (93%) for total positive sentiment.

Crystal Palace and Wolves fans also love their stadiums, with both Selhurst Park and Molineux seeing 80% positive sentiment to articles written about them by fans. The full top ten can be viewed in the table above.
However, at the other end of the table, our data highlights 25% of Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa fans have negative sentiment towards their stadiums.

Midlands clubs Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa have the most negative sentiment from fans towards their stadiums in the Premier League.

The City Ground and Villa Park attracted 25% negative sentiment via online reactions over the past year - although Villa fans also had 63% supportive reactions, whereas Forest fans showed just 55% support.

Brighton (15%) came in third place, just ahead of Premier League giants Chelsea (12%), Manchester United (11%) and Tottenham (11%) as the clubs with the most negative sentiment towards their stadiums.

In total, just 45% of reactions to articles about Stamford Bridge were positive, and 1 in 3 reactions to articles about Old Trafford were either negative or laughing. The full top ten can be viewed in the table above.

Methodology

AceOdds looked at reactions to articles mentioning each of the 20 Premier League stadiums over the last year using Buzzsumo, breaking these down into supportive, negative and laughter.
